I struggled with what to call this installment of the Crusades series. I was thinking "The Crusades: Part 2, OMG" or "Part 2, WTH." Or even "Part 2, Does Leadership Matter?" In Part 2, we see the leadership of the Seljuk Empire try time and time again to overcome the Crusaders. Bad luck, cowardice, sloth, alcoholism, madness, narcissism, and the pursuit of self-interest all conspire to give the...

I absolutely agree that dr. Casagranda should receive any Oscar for his presentation. I find myself on occasion disagreeing with some arguments put forward by some historians but I have never so far felt to have to disagree with anything dr. Casagrande said/presented so far.

whoa whoa whoa, hold your beer there. Bavaria as the cultural center of Germany? As a hamburgian (German from Hamburg [in the north]) i have to kiiiiinda protest. Many other states see the bavarians as a bit weird and also a bit over the top. Most people i know would say bavaria is soooo 19.th century in many aspects. But thats today, maybe it was different back then. Heck the bavarians went kommunist. Never heard of that, the politics there now is conservative/reactionary.

1:32:12 professor is definitely wrong about “needing” to feel guilty about what conquistadors did to enslave and murder millions of people 500 hundred years ago. Absolutely not. Not in the slightest. Not in the least. Besides, Professor Casagranda does not appear to feel very guilty himself, giving such an engaging and interesting lecture for us to learn history, and for him to slurp up the audience’s attention, which it seems to me that he delights in.

Any topic of World History will do. Any part of the world, any and all religions and religions. Please consider my request. I feel like ur lectures posted here are every semester. I am from the SFO Bay Area and can’t make it to your lecture hall. So I have to wait months just to see your new posted videos. I’ve watched all your lectures and videos. So I need more. Thank you for posting them. Love to learn from you. I have learnt more from your lectures than I did in class or article or videos I have ever watch. May God bless you and ur family.
